Scoop type ice cream usually serve with cone , cup or bread . This type of traditional ice cream made in Singapore , basically flavours as Attap Seed, Chocolate , Sweet Corn and Coconut. Attap Seed is the most popular favor, it's come two type , one with whole seed and another one seed was minced. Normally i will bring the minced type for my events or parties ,because events or parties majority are elderly and kids . If bring the Attap seed ice cream with whole seed must remind them carefully of choking of the seed and eat slowly . Attap seed in pink color but my customers thought it was strawberry . Slice type ice cream import from neighbour's country as Malaysia and Thailand. Normally we choosing Mingo brand or Magnolia brand , both of them made in Thailand .My first choice is Wall's made in Malaysia but unfortunately they stop to process hawker bar from few years ago.³Very strange they made in Thailand or Malaysia but we never see them selling at the country , i think they only manufacture and import to Singapore only.³The most popular flavours of slice type traditional ice cream was Raspberry Ripple , Chocolate, Mint Choc Chip and Durian, it's serve with wafers , cup or bread . Are you like traditional ice cream ? I think mostly you get the answer was ' yes ' , why nowaday traditional ice creams so hot ? Actually it been hot since many years ago, i think it hot because can't get everywhere like normal ice cream stall, only selling by street hawkers or mobile hawkers . But the most important things is traditional ice cream really tasty and reasoable of price, traditional ice cream nowaday only cost $1 to $1.50 per piece only. The best things you still can have your own choice match with wafers/ bread/ cone/ cup. An ice-cream-like food was first eaten in China in 618-97AD. King Tang of Shang, had 94 ice men who helped to make a dish of buffalo milk, flour and camphor.
A kind of ice-cream was invented in China about 200 BC when a milk and rice mixture was frozen by packing it into snow. Roman emperors are supposed to have sent slaves to mountain tops to bring back fresh snow which was then flavoured and served as an early form of ice-cream. The King of England, Charles I, is supposed to have offered his chef £500 a year to keep his ice-cream recipe a secret from the rest of England. The explorer, Marco Polo (1254-1324), is believed to have seen ice-creams being made during his trip to China and introduced them to Italy. Ice Cream sundaes were invented when it became illegal to sell ice-cream sodas on a Sunday in the American town of Evanston during the late 19th century. To get round the problem some traders replaced the soda with syrup and called the dessert an "Ice Cream Sunday." They replaced the final "y" with an "e" to avoid upsetting religious leaders. copy from BBC Ice cream (derived from earlier iced cream or cream ice) a sweetened frozen food typically eaten as a snack or dessert. It may be made from dairy milk or cream and is flavoured with a sweetener, either sugar or an alternative, and any spice, such as cocoa or vanilla. Colourings are usually added, in addition to stabilizers. The mixture is stirred to incorporate air spaces and cooled below the freezing point of water to prevent detectable ice crystals from forming. The result is a smooth, semi-solid foam that is solid at very low temperatures (below 2 °C or 35 °F). It becomes more malleable as its temperature increases.
The meaning of the name "ice cream" varies from one country to another. Terms such as "frozen custard," "frozen yogurt," "sorbet," "gelato," and others are used to distinguish different varieties and styles. In some countries, such as the United States, "ice cream" applies only to a specific variety, and most governments regulate the commercial use of the various terms according to the relative quantities of the main ingredients, notably the amount of cream. Products that do not meet the criteria to be called ice cream are sometimes labelled "frozen dairy dessert" instead. In other countries, such as Italy and Argentina, one word is used for all variants. Analogues made from dairy alternatives, such as goat's or sheep's milk, or milk substitutes (e.g., soy, cashew, coconut, almond milk or tofu), are available for those who are lactose intolerant, allergic to dairy protein, or vegan. Ice cream may be served in dishes, for eating with a spoon, or licked from edible cones. Ice cream may be served with other desserts, such as apple pie, or as an ingredient in ice cream floats, sundaes, milkshakes, ice cream cakes |
